Valentine’s Partner WOD Recap

Well…. Over 80 athletes participated. Four CrossFit affiliates represented. 1 WOD dominated.

 

Big thanks to CrossFit Clayton, Phalanx CrossFit, East Coast CrossFit and our Raleigh CrossFit athletes who participated, assisted, judged, smiled, laughed, sweated, left it all out there and gave 100%.

 

We are so proud of everyone today. It was a special day – and honestly that is not surprising.  It is what such a day should be – all about love.  This Valentine’s Day workout definitely displayed that.  Couples, friends, new friends, old friends, visitors and family all came together to share the moment.  A true representation of what our CrossFit community is all about.

 

Next up for this CrossFit family is the 2012 CrossFit Games Open.  If you haven’t registered, please do so. The Raleigh CrossFit team is getting rolling.  The Open is 5 workouts, announced each Wednesday, beginning Feb. 22.  We will hold particular days where you can perform the workout with a judge so that it can be submitted to count as official participation in the Open.  Everyone is encouraged to participate.  Give it a shot and see where your workouts have been taking you.  If you enjoyed the atmosphere on Saturday, you will LOVE the open.  Register here.

 

FUN RUNS - All Raleigh CrossFit athletes can join Coach Will on the Sunday Fun Runs!  The runs will be at 1 p.m. at various locations.  Today’s (Sun., Feb. 12) first Fun Run will meet at the Ridgewood Shopping Center (Whole Foods, Fleet Feet). The course will run along the Greenway towards the North Carolina Art Museum.  Meet Coach Will at 1 p.m.

 

Sunday, April 1 - Raleigh Rocks 5k/Half-Marathon

No April Fool’s Day joke here!  Put those running skills to work at the Raleigh Rocks 5k/Half-Marathon.  Register to dominate this race with Raleigh CrossFit.  This is the perfect race to put all your focus on during your 6-week endurance training.

April 14-15: USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach Level 1 Certification

Two-day certification (click for more info.) The purpose of this course is to take all participants through complete technical progressions of the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, and all associated movements including Power Snatch, Power Clean, Power Jerk, Squat variations, and pulling progressions.  Participants will gain base line knowledge about the programming of training and technical rules.  The course includes theoretical classroom, and practical hands-on portions.  Course duration is over one weekend and lasts approximately 13-14 hours with up to 9 hours being practical and 4-5 hours lecture based.  It is suitable for Strength & Conditioning /Sports Performance, Health & Fitness and beginning level competitive Weightlifting Coaches alike.
