Raleigh CrossFit is pleased to announce the addition of Matt Nixon to its coaching staff. Matt is currently a Master Fitness Trainer in the Army National Guard and also brings with him three years of personal training experience, along with his leadership and motivational qualities.
Matt is from Elkin, NC and joined the United States Army when he was 17 years old. He was deployed to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once and as mentioned earlier, is currently active with the Army National Guard.
“I feel very much at home with the Raleigh CrossFit community. Everyone I see, no matter how different their athletic abilities are or personal background, shares the drive to be better. My goal as a coach is to share my enthusiasm for looking at things differently, for seeing more than just one way to achieve excellence. Our community at Raleigh CrossFit excited me as an athlete and now I have the opportunity to help continue its excellence as a coach as well.”
There has not been a moment that Matt has not made me smile. He has a unique energy about him that brings a special volume of positivity to our coaching arsenal. In fact, he said to me, “I find a reason to be ridiculously happy every day.” That in itself is contagious and inspiring. In addition to that, Matt is very supportive of others and their goals and never settles for anything but the best out of himself.
Matt will begin the coaching mentorship program this week and we are excited to have him.
Welcome to the family Coach Matt.
