There are a couple of ways to get started.
Come to the Raleigh CrossFit “box” and introduce yourself. We are coaches and you are the athlete. Coaches and athletes work side by side to reach goals. They know one another and to get that off to a good start, we want to meet you –in person. E-mails and phone calls are a great start, but eventually, we will be face to face. So come on in today.
You are welcome to walk in and observe a class and ask questions and you are also welcome to participate!
The other option is to fully immerse yourself in the action.
All levels of athletes are able to participate in our free trial classes. No experience is needed. The coaching staff will ensure you know what to expect for the workout that day and will be right there by your side to guide you through the movements and ensure you are moving safely.
Our free trial training sessions are held every Thursday at 600a, 930a, 400p, 500p, 600p or 700p or on Saturday at 1030a.
If you are ready to immerse yourself into our CrossFit community, send us an email to schedule your free trial session.
A free trial class is the best way to know what it’s like to workout with a coach and alongside your fellow athletes. Raleigh CrossFit is a community from top to bottom. You workout with your community.
We are not in the fitness business to sell you anything. We are coaches. With that being said, we want to ensure that you begin your journey towards a fit and healthy life in the right way.
New to CrossFit?
After the free trial, the next step is the foundations course. Prior to beginning the CrossFit program, each athlete must be able to perform the nine fundamental movements that are the backbone of CrossFit training. This teaching, or “Foundations”, is done within 3 hours of focused, one-on-one instruction with a Raleigh CrossFit coach. You will be provided personal instruction of the nine fundamental movements of CrossFit as well as several other key movements we use within our programming. We want to make sure that you are structurally sound to get your body prepared in the right way. You have to learn to crawl before you can walk right?
Already Have CrossFit Experience from Another Facility?
If you already have CrossFit experience you will not need to complete the foundations course. However, you will have to be evaluated and given the green light before you head into our programming. This is done through an athlete assessment. There is no cost to do this, just simply schedule a 30 minute session by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. The coach will have you demonstrate your working knowledge of CrossFit and then you are ready to become an athlete at Raleigh CrossFit.
There are no other requirements to join our family – other than you choosing which membership package you want. Let us take care of the paperwork and programming so you can enjoy your fitness journey and the Raleigh CrossFit community.
After completing the foundations course or the athlete assessment, you will be given the go-ahead to begin training with the CrossFit Classes. As you become more familiar with our coaching and programming, we will adjust each workout so that you are maximizing your athletic potential while keeping safety as our number one priority. If at any time you do not feel comfortable with a particular movement or have questions please ask! We love to talk about what we love to do – coach you!
In the event that either you or your coach are uncomfortable about moving on to regular CrossFit classes, more small group or one-on-one training will be recommended. This will help to ensure you’ve mastered the CrossFit “basics” of form and movement well enough to safely participate in more advanced workouts.
And now you are on your way! There are plenty of CrossFit class options to choose from. We recommend working out 5-6 days per week, setting up a schedule of 3 days of training with 1 day off. We know that sometimes that doesn’t fit into your busy lives. So we can discuss other alternatives, just ask us! We do however want our athletes to be rested and recovered properly. And that means recovering with the right fuel, rest and relaxation.
From here, make sure you arrive on time to class. We take class attendance seriously because when we are in class, we are teaching you important things and it doesn’t help your progress to miss any of that valuable information. Secondly, it just stinks when you walk in late and everyone else is on time. Be respectful of your community of fellow athletes as well.
Ok, now it’s your turn to come by the “box” and introduce yourself to us. While you are here, we will welcome you to your new family and get you on your way to your first Raleigh CrossFit workout.
