Some 20 year-olds spend their days lounging around and looking at the stars wondering what they want to do with their lives. This is not the case for Meagan Burns. At 20 years old she has her sites set on success. You can see it in her enthusiasm for training, coaching and at her new job with lululemon. It is a rare site to see not see a smile on her face and sparkle in her eye. Usually the only time that happens is if she is intently inquiring about to get better about any aspect of those items just mentioned. If you want to learn more about Meagan, she will be participating in CrossFit Raleigh’s goal-setting seminar this Monday, Nov. 14 at 730p or you can read the story below that Meagan took the time to share.

Want to know what fires me up every morning?! It’s my list of goals. Over the past few months I have gotten to experience how beneficial goal setting can actually be. I have had a few drastic changes this year and it is simply due to setting specific goals and putting them out there for others to see!
Over the past couple years I started to develop a love for CrossFit and knew I wanted to learn how to become a coach. I kept placing this thought in the back of my head and never really let anyone know what I wanted to do. I was also at a complete stand still with my CrossFit, not seeing any improvement or strength gains. In July, I was introduced to a lululemon goal party. I was a bit skeptical at first…a goal party? What is that and why would I need someone to help me set goals? I have goals and I already know how to set them. Well clearly I did not. I ended up going to this goal party and that was the start of several changes in my life. They encouraged me to pursue my goal of being a coach and start making specific goals and deadlines in order to get there. I decided to go out on a limb and do just that. I contacted CFR and to my complete surprise they welcomed me with open arms and were 100% supportive and ready to help me achieve this goal. Early this year I would have never even considered that I would have my CrossFit Level One Certification and that I would be coaching at an amazing gym! I continued to set some very specific goals and started to enroll others to start keeping me accountable. I mentioned to Christmas that it was a goal of mine to find a job, that for once, I actually loved. Without me even knowing she enrolled herself in my goal and got me an interview at lululemon. I now have the most amazing job that has set a complete foundation for my future. Not only do I have a great job but it goes hand in hand with what I love to do and that’s coaching at CFR. I now have a complete support systems at two different locations that keep me accountable for all my goals and are willing to do whatever it takes to help me achieve them.
These two experiences have completely turned my life around and it was all because someone showed me how to make specific, realistic goals and how to start achieving them. It is my goal to get as many people to experience what I have felt in the past few months and realizing that they really can start doing some great things with the power of goal setting!
