A special thank you to all of our Raleigh CrossFit friends and athletes who came out for opening day! We have a fun, strong and supportive, family at Raleigh CrossFit. Shout outs to Diamond Fit, CrossFit Wake Forest and Oak City CrossFit, that represented from the CrossFit affiliate community. It was an incredible experience to be surrounded by those who share the same enthusiasm for the CrossFit community – once again.
To all those who came out to show support, take in a WOD and see the space at 15 N. West Street – Thank you. See you soon… We open our doors for regular classes Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011. Click here for the Raleigh CrossFit schedule.
For anyone who couldn’t make it to the opening day, please feel free to join us this week for a WOD.
Here are some photos from today’s WODs.
For those of you who are interested, we will begin our open gym time this Sunday from 1000-1100a. This time can be used to make up a missed WOD or to get some extra time working on Olympic lift progressions and other skills. If this becomes a popular time, we will continue this program. If it doesn’t work, let a coach know and we will discuss it with the group to find out the optimal time is for everyone.
Additionally, let us know what days and times work best for you in order to get your kids in and training with our CrossFit Kids program that will begin in January. For those who don’t know, Coach Bobby and Coach Chennelle earned their CrossFit Kids certification and are looking forward to getting this program running.
Who Can Join CF Kids? Any child age 3-17. We scale or modify workouts to meet the age groups and skill levels of the participants. Same as we do with the adults.
Do the parents have to be members of Raleigh CrossFit? No.
Can I drop off my kids so they can participate? Yes, as long as you pick them up when the class is done. :)
What are the rates? Those will be announced soon. Stay tuned.
What about Wendler. I really liked that program, are you continuing with it? Yes, we are continuing with the Wendler program every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with additional supplemental Oly and powerlifting training on Sunday from 1000-1100a.
What about the endurance program? The endurance program will kick off in January. We are still working out the details. Coach Will is planning to hold a running seminar after the first of the year to kick it off, which will be free to everyone. After that, the endurance program will be a specialized program that will be catered towards your endurance training goals, whether it is a triathlon or road race.
Are you having open gym? Yes. Open gym will be scheduled (for now) on Sundays at 1000-1100a. During this time you can make up a workout that you missed during the week, a special skill or Olympic progressions. If you want to come to work on your Oly lifts, we will have specialized programming for that day so that you have some guidance as to what the Oly focus will be for that day. This Open Gym time is part of your membership. For example, if you are coming 3x/week, Sunday’s open gym counts toward your days/week. However, you could WOD on Sunday and also stay for the Open Gym time. If you are looking to train for competitions, this would be a great opportunity to get in additional training time.
