Raleigh CrossFit is pleased to announce the addition of Ryan Gibson to our coaching team. After three years as a Raleigh CrossFit athlete, Ryan is transitioning into a coaching role. His athletic and coaching experience extends beyond CrossFit. Ryan was a collegiate cheerleader at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a cheerleading instructor for three years. When he isn’t training hard at Raleigh CrossFit, playing kickball, volleyball or trying out for game shows, Ryan spends his days as a manager supporting the collegiate recruiting program for Cisco.
Ryan is from Catawba, NC and graduated from UNC in 2012 with a degree in journalism and mass communications.
“I’m excited to begin a new journey as a coach at Raleigh CrossFit. I’m looking forward to sharing what I learned as an athlete with us, to guide others positively and further their CrossFit experience with our community. Coaching is something I am passionate about. I love seeing people get better, and being that encouragement and resource to support their goals.”
“Ryan arrived at Raleigh CrossFit wanting to lose weight, gain muscle and learn about the sport of CrossFit and he had a plan in place to do achieve those goals. Over the course of three years, many conversations, many corrections and many classes, Ryan achieved all of those goals. He then had a new goal – to become a Raleigh CrossFit coach. There is no greater compliment and feeling than seeing an athlete accomplish the goals they set for themselves and the to have that athlete wish to share those goals and experiences in a new capacity, as a coach, is truly special. Ryan will bring a motivational spirit to the coaching arsenal, but also, he will bring his goal-setting skills and community connection.” -Coach Chennelle
Coach Ryan will begin the coaching mentorship program this week and we are excited to have him.
Welcome to the coaching team Ryan.
