Lorri Cole is the Lead Coach and Operations Manager for Raleigh CrossFit.
Originally from Moss Hill, NC, Lorri graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and International Studies. She played softball for Meredith College, which led her to the sport of CrossFit.
For the past several years she has helped manage various sports programs, including two local CrossFit facilities prior to joining our team at Raleigh CrossFit. In addition to her CrossFit Level 1 certification, Lorri has certifications in CrossFit Aerobic Capacity, CrossFit Scaling and CrossFit Judges courses, as well as completion and participation in the Freestyle Movement Connection Workshop by renowned gymnastics coach Carl Paoli.
“When I found CrossFit, it really changed my life. And I get that that can be cliché, but I experienced such an impactful transition after starting CrossFit. My mental, physical and emotional states have all been changed for the better as result of the “CrossFit process,” as well as the incredible network of supportive people that the CrossFit community has provided me. I can’t even imagine what my life would be like nor who I would be as a person today had I not found the CrossFit community when I did. With that said, coaching came as somewhat of a natural transition for me after having taught at the high school and collegiate level. The idea of being able to actively facilitate this incredible lifestyle change for other people is what drew me specifically to coaching within CrossFit. It’s my way of “showing thanks” in a sense.
I love that Raleigh CrossFit is focused on creating an environment that is inclusive for all people and also that RCF believes in being a good community partner and giving back,” said Lorri. “I’m looking forward to being part of something bigger than myself and the opportunity to make a positive impact in people’s lives on a bigger scale through Raleigh CrossFit. There’s no greater reward for me than being able to act as a facilitator, and sometimes even just a spectator, in that physical, mental and emotional transition within other people and see them accomplish goals they didn’t know they had– both within the gym and beyond. It is what I love most about coaching.”
“Lorri brings an extensive level of experience from both the managerial and coaching sides of CrossFit. In addition to her resume, Lorri is also full of positive energy and enthusiasm for the CrossFit community and we are excited to have her join our team. She genuinely wants our community to continue to grow inside the walls of the facility, but also outside within the greater community at-large.”
