Our mission: The mission of the Raleigh Weightlifting Club is to provide dedicated programming designed to improving Olympic Weightlifting skill and technique. In addition to improving proficiency in the Olympic lifts, the Raleigh Weightlifting Club athletes will sharpen their strength and skills to the extent that prepares them for further competitive outlets, to include weightlifting meets.

In order to join us, you must communicate with Chennelle that you are joining the Raleigh Weightlifting Club. You will be charged monthly. If you wish to discontinue participation, please follow this link, at least 15 days prior to payment dates. Payment is due on the 1st of each month.
What does the price include?

What happens during the training sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday?
These sessions are for you to receive coaching feedback, while enjoying the camaraderie of training with fellow, like-minded athletes.
When do I do the three days of programming?
Ideally you will join us on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and complete the other days during open platform times. If you cannot make one of those days, you can opt to use open gym time/platform times on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
How do I do CrossFit and Raleigh WLC?
You can do two a days, just provide rest and proper nutrition. The work load is intense however. If you plan to do CrossFit and Raleigh WLC, limit weightlifting to only 3 days per week and you must take 1 day of rest.
What is the online forum?
Private access to our Facebook page. This is where you will post your videos for coach review. Coaches will be the only people reviewing the lifts. Fellow athletes will not permitted to post analysis. There will be a strict “No-Analysis” review by peers. We want this to be an open group and a learning group and the coach is the assessor.
Where will I find the programming?
The coach provides this via a private online group. Athletes who are paying for the programming will have private access to the Raleigh Weightlifting Club programming portal.
What if I want to do my own programming or programming from another source?
You can, just not during the Raleigh Weightlifting Club allotted times, T, Th, Sa., noted above.
What is the Olympic lifting programming?
Programmed in 9-12 week cycles to advance your technique, build your strength, increase your speed and deepen your understanding of the Snatch, Clean and Jerk. The cycle will revolve around 3 days of coached lifting in small groups, in two 4 week blocks, culminating in a taper and test via Mock Meet.
Is the Raleigh Weightlifting Club for everyone?
The Raleigh Weightlifting Club is meant as an advanced class and is not intended for beginners or those just starting out with weightlifting. In order to participate in the Raleigh WLC all participants must complete an athlete assessment.
What are the movement requirements to joining Raleigh Weightlifting Club?
The Raleigh Weightlifting Club is meant as an advanced class that helps people who are proficient in the movements (snatch, clean and jerk, back squat and deadlift) and can make the adjustments necessary to advance in their lifts.
Some movement requirements that will be needed include:
- Being able to perform a proper Air Squat
- Being able to perform an Overhead Squat at full depth with an empty bar.
- Being proficient in performing a Front Squat with a proper front rack position
If you are unable to perform these movements successfully at the moment…don’t worry! Work on improving these movements during CrossFit classes and after a month or so, you can re-test into the RWL.
If an athlete is new to weightlifting and has not completed a foundations course at Raleigh CrossFit, he or she will be assessed and provided further steps upon an agreement decided between the coach and the athlete.
